Who you can vote for in the church elections
21.7.2025 13:39:50 CEST | Svenska kyrkan | Press Release
All nomination groups and candidates for the 2025 church elections are now available on the church election website.

With just two months to go until the church elections on 21 September 2025, all group and candidate lists have now been finalised. As of today, they are available on the church election website, where you can search for candidates by postcode, parish, municipality or diocese.
In total, 546 nomination groups have submitted candidate lists, and over 25,000 unique individuals are running for 13,783 elected positions at local, regional and national level.
Church elections give members the opportunity to influence how the Church of Sweden will be led over the next four years on issues relating to worship, activities for children and young people, diaconia (pastoral welfare), commitment to the environment and the allocation of church resources.
“The fact that so many people get involved in church elections is a democratic strength,” says Nils Warmland, leader of the church elections at the electoral office. “It is a sign of a vibrant church whose members care about the future.”
