Åre is a destination full of possibilities all year around, but during the Alpine World Championships a number of brands have chosen to you as a visitor extraordinary activities. Audi, gives a premonition of the future of driving, with its electrical cars, where you are given roller coaster-like ride on the ice of Lake Åre
Another electrified experience is offered by Vattenfall that offers you a ride with some of the world's first all electric snowmobiles, an experience without that familiar smell of diesel and howling engines. Instead, you travel on the ice of Lake Åre listening to the skids on the ice and snow. Vattenfall's electric snowmobiles can be found just by Holiday Club and just below the National Arena. If you chose to go by snowmobile in one direction, you have the opportunity to borrow a Swedish kick for your return journey. Finish of with a hot coffee and a chat with the students from the Event- and project management education based in Åre.

For those of you who might want to get some exercise, why nut try cross-country skiing.. As a cross-country skier, you will find your much-needed recovery through the tranquility of Ullådalen. Another alternative is a visit to the cross-country arena with different well-groomed tracks running deep into the woods at the XC-arena in the Björnen area of Åre.
But if you are looking for some more motor-driven experiences, you should try the cool electric bike Rawbike, take a tour through the village of Åre and feel the future of biking knocking on your shoulder.
Down by Åre station you will find the Sponsor Village, which several companies have made their homes during the World Championships in Åre. There you will find even more to do through challenges, competitions and experiences. With VR-glasses you can run both slalom and car at Bauhaus and then you can go on the skylift to get the chance to see Åre from above at Cramo. Longines offers you some extra training their in simulator that gives you the opportunity to develop your skiing skills if needed. Then you can challenge your friends in biathlon at Europcar and as an extra treat they also offer popcorn. Simply, the best of two worlds. Competitions are waiting to be competed, prizes are waiting be won. Food can be tasted and quizzes can be quizzed.
The FIS Alpine World Championships in Åre have a strong focus on sustainability and the cooperation with Vattenfall shows that it is possible to take big steps towards being climate neutral as an organizer.
- We use the FIS Alpine World Championships in Åre to showcase our work within sustainability, where the all electric snow-mobile is a great example, says Annika Ramsköld, Sustainability Manager at Vattenfall. We have also installed solar panels on the roofs of the National Arena, and they will of course be left after the championships.
