Corline Biomedical AB: Ingår Term Sheet avseende medicinteknisk applikation

Corline Biomedical AB ("Corline" eller "Bolaget") meddelar att Bolaget har ingått ett Term Sheet med en nordamerikansk kund avseende en medicinteknisk produkt där huvudsakliga villkor för framtida royalties, priser och volymer för kommande leveranser av Bolagets heparinyta, CHC (TM), specificeras. Efter utvecklings- och uppskalningsperioden förväntas affären generera intäkter till Corline om upp till 50 MSEK årligen.

Corlines kund har utvecklat en ny s.k. ablationskateter som används vid behandling av hjärtarytmier, något som drabbar mer än 40 miljoner människor per år. Ett problem med procedurer som använder ablationskatetrar för att bota hjärtarytmier är risken att kateterytan initierar trombosbildning i hjärtat. Tromboser kan därefter komma ut i cirkulationen och orsaka blodproppar i till exempel lungor och hjärna, vilket innebär en signifikant patientrisk. För att öka produktens blod- och biokompatibilitet och minska risken för proppbildning kommer systemet att ytbehandlas med Corlines heparinyta, CHC(TM).

Kunden kommer att under innevarande år ansöka om nödvändiga marknadsgodkännanden i Europa och Nordamerika och planerar att inleda försäljning med start under första kvartalet 2019. I Term Sheet definieras försäljningsprognoser och tillhörande prisnivåer som inom cirka 5 år förväntas generera intäkter till Corline om upp till 50 MSEK årligen. Corlines intäkter från samarbetet kommer att bestå av en kombination av royalties per såld enhet samt löpande försäljning av CHC(TM). Term Sheet ger kunden en option som sträcker sig över 15 månader att licensiera CHC(TM)-tekniken och sätta upp en process för CHC(TM)-coatning i egen regi för den aktuella produkten. Överenskommelsen innehåller inga exklusivitetsåtaganden från Corlines sida.
