Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round, Ninja Thyberg’s Pleasure and Magnus von Horn’s Sweat have been selected for Cannes Film Festival “Cannes 2020 Label”. All films shot or did parts of post production in Region Västra Götaland in Sweden and were co-produced by Film i Väst.

- We congratulate the three talented directors and their team. We are very proud of the Cannes quality mark “Cannes 2020 Label” of the three co-productions. This is also a quality stamp for our region, Västra Götaland, the leading Scandiavian film region, says Peter Possne, Head of Production at Film i Väst.

Thomas Vinterberg’s feature Another Round is about a group of high school teachers who embark on an experiment to uphold a constant level of intoxication throughout the working day. The production reunites Vinterberg with several collaborators from his award-winning 2012 drama The Hunt, including scriptwriter Tobias Lindholm as well as actors Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Magnus Millang, Lars Ranthe and Maria Bonnevie. Another Round is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Kasper Dissing, Zentropa Entertainments3, in co-production with Film i Väst and Zentropa Sweden, Lizette Jonjic. Supported by Swedish Film Institute.

Ninja Thyberg's debut feature Pleasure is a journey into the American porn industry and follows 20-year-old Bella from Sweden, who arrives in Los Angeles with the dream of becoming the next big porn star. The film is raw but offers both a human and humorous portrayal of a male-dominated world seen from a female perspective. 2013 Ninja Thyberg won Canal+ Award in Cannes for her short film Pleasure. Supported by Swedish Film Institute. Produced by Erik Hemmendorff, Markus Waltå och Eliza Jones, Plattform Produktion in co-production with Film i Väst. Supported by Swedish Film Institute.

Magnus von Horn’s Sweat recounts three days in the life of fitness motivator Sylwia Zając, whose presence on social media has made her a celebrity. Although she has hundreds of thousands of followers, is surrounded by loyal employees and admired by acquaintances, her life lacks true intimacy. In 2015 Magnus von Horn’s The Here After was nominated for the Camera d’Or in Cannes. The film is produced by Mariusz Włodarski, Lava Films, in co-production with Zentropa Sweden, Lizette Jonjic, and Film i Väst. Supported by Swedish Film Institute.
