Hang out at Henrik Windstedt's place during Ullån Shred Session

Two years ago Henrik Windstedt installed a lift in his backyard. It gave him the idea to invite skiers to a session and have some fun. Together with the artist Petter and NOCCO, his idea has become reality and this year they are arranging Ullån Shred Session in Åre's most secret snowpark for the first time.

- Everyone is psyched to use this lift, says Henrik Windstedt. It's fun to organize something during the World Championships.

Henrik, who has previously been part of Ski Team Sweden Moguls and competed in X Games, has left the competitive life behind him and now works with NOCCO and their involvement in freestyle skiing, among other things.

- I don't have as many days in the slopes every year any more, maybe a hundred, but I live in the snow! If I got to choose, this is what I would like to do every day, Windstedt continued.

The snowpark behind his house, Henrik has created himself with the help of a few local companies. He is satisfied with the outcome, although being a visionary he sees endless possibilities for improvement in the future:

- We have spent hundreds of hours shoveling snow, all by hand. The jump is not huge, but hopefully the kids might learn something new!

The vision of Åre 2019 is "Inspire the world to ski" and the Ullån Shred Session is an event that aligns well with this vision.

Where life can be lived - reflections of a volonteer19.2.2019 09:34:46 CETPress release

Yet another Alpine World Championship in Åre has come to an end. The third through the years. Skiers, visitors and volunteers have lived and breathed the World Championships for weeks. The organization has done the same for years. Beyond all the races that have been raced, the medals that have been awarded, something else has taken place. Perhaps the thoughts have been thought before, maybe they have been awaken when being here. Thoughts of the real meaning of life, or rather, thoughts of what kind of life we want to live. Thoughts of where our children should grow up, of where our everyday lives should take place. Where life should be lived.
