- We are all worried about the corona crisis. But protecting the local environment is a very positive commitment, and by doing so you feel a little better, and get rid of some anxiety. This is something you can do right now to make a visible and real difference, says Keep Sweden Tidy:s CEO Johanna Ragnartz.

Usually, the Nordic Coastal Clean-up Day gather thousands of people in the Nordic countries to clean up litter around coasts, lakes and streams. This year, due to the Corona virus the neighbouring countries have chosen to move the entire campaign to the autumn. But instead of cancelling, Sweden is extending the effort to run throughout May, and participation is above expectations. The Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation hopes that there will be even more Swedes who, during the Corona outbreak, wants to help.

- We have hired extra staff so that we can keep sending our  “trash picker packages” to everyone who orders, Johanna Ragnartz says.

- There are many people at home in Sweden now. We can all use this time to take care of our wonderful nature together, but still keep the social distance, Johanna Ragnartz concludes.

Keep Sweden Tidy and Kusträddarna (Coastal Rescuers)
The Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation works to counteract trash from spreading in nature. This by gathering knowledge, driving opinion and developing hands on tools and solutions to stop the trash spreading. Right now, the campaign Kusträddarna (Coastal Rescuers) is underway, where people together prevent trash from falling into the sea, one bag at a time. Anyone who joins in the campaign and signs up as a participant receives a free trash picker package to their home.
