Keeping the Åre 2019 team happy with good coffee and ample snacks

Dela

During long days of hard work in cold weather, it will be important for anyone working with the Åre 2019 World Ski Championships to keep their energy levels high. The Championships’ own kitchen will be preparing thousands of healthy and filling meals. In addition, Åre 2019 partners will help ensure that energy and spirits stay high among the staff and volunteers.

A working day at a major event can easily be much longer than the normal eight hours and lunch or coffee breaks. Hard work goes on despite early mornings and late evenings. Avoiding drops in blood sugar levels and tiredness requires regular energy intake.

The work of all 1500 volunteers is planned and divided into no longer than eight-hour shifts. With a lot of pressure and demanding tasks, however, it is easy to lose energy and the ability to keep up a good working pace will diminish. Luckily, some Åre 2019 sponsors are able to provide a helping hand.

– The meals planned for the volunteers will be of high quality and our sponsors will add a silver lining to their experience. We will have a Mood Managing Team distributing energy bars, warm coffee and drinks when needed. It is our ambition to provide great hostmanship, and this is where we can make a difference which we guarantee will be appreciated by our volunteers, said Karin Stolt Halvarsson, Head of Volunteers at Åre 2019.

It will be important to sleep well, eat well and obviously, have fun during the Championships. But it will be comforting and necessary to have snacks and warm beverages available every so often. The Åre 2019 partners Löfbergs and Nocco are helping to provide good (organic!) coffee, energy drinks and cereal bars as in-between-meal snacks and to keep those working outside warm.

The provisions from the sponsors will complement the meals served by the Åre 2019 Championships kitchen where 100 people will be preparing meals for the media, VIP guests, volunteers, staff and others.

Where life can be lived - reflections of a volonteer19.2.2019 09:34:46 CETPressmeddelande

Yet another Alpine World Championship in Åre has come to an end. The third through the years. Skiers, visitors and volunteers have lived and breathed the World Championships for weeks. The organization has done the same for years. Beyond all the races that have been raced, the medals that have been awarded, something else has taken place. Perhaps the thoughts have been thought before, maybe they have been awaken when being here. Thoughts of the real meaning of life, or rather, thoughts of what kind of life we want to live. Thoughts of where our children should grow up, of where our everyday lives should take place. Where life should be lived.
