New talents join the Royal Swedish Ballet for the season 2022/2023

Ten amazing young talents join the Royal Swedish Ballet this season. The dancers come from all over the world to Stockholm and the ballet company, which next year will celebrate 250 years.

The ballet season will open with Don Quijote September 9, followed up by the double bill Robbins/Balanchine and the great success from last spring, Cinderella.

»I’m very happy to welcome ten new talented dancers to the Royal Swedish Ballet. We have an exciting season ahead of us with a great mix of styles. This new energy combined with the great experience and knowledge of our current artists will only contribute to wonderful performances during our upcoming season«, says Nicolas Le Riche, Artistic Director of the Royal Swedish Ballet.

Educated in Master Ballet Academy in USA

Awarded Prize Winner in Prix De Lausanne 2022, Gold Medalist in Helsinki International Ballet Competition and 2 times Gold Medalist in Youth America Grand Prix Finals 2022.

Joâo Felipe Santana, Brazil

Educated in Dutch National Ballet Academy, Netherlands.

Diego Altamarino, USA 

Educated in City Ballet School of San Francisco, Dmitry Kulev Classical Ballet Academy in California, USA and John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, Germany.

Experience from the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.

Yuki Nukada, Japan

Educated in Académie Princesse Grace, Monaco.

Lorenzzo Fernandes, Brazil

Educated in Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin, Germany.

Experience from Staatsbellett Berlin.

Clara Boselli, France

Educated in Académie Princesse Grace, Monaco.

Celine Urquhart, Australia

Educated in John Cranko Schule Stuttgart, Germany.

Edoardo Pavoni, Italy

Educated in English National Ballet School, Great Britain.

Experience from Finnish National Ballet.

Louise Camelbeke, New Zealand

Educated in New Zealand School of Dance.

Experience from the Royal New Zealand Ballet. 

Rikako Shibamoto, Japan

Educated in Vienna State Ballet Academy, Austria.

Experience from Vienna State Ballet.

The Royal Swedish Ballet is one of the oldest ballet companies in the world, founded in 1773. It is Sweden's largest dance comany with the tast of curating and developing classical ballet as well as contemporary, innovative works.

In 2023, the Royal Swedish Ballet will celebrate 250 years and the new dancers will contribute not only the autum season but also join the preparations for the upcoming celebrations.

Höstens första operapremiär på Kungliga Operan är en fest för alla sinnen. Ariadne på Naxos med Christina Nilsson i huvudrollen och med skådespelaren Andreas T Olsson i rollen som Hovmästaren är en skruvad historia där två parallella berättelser löper genom varandra till Strauss älskade musik. Kungliga Hovkapellet leds av Alan Gilbert. Ariadne på Naxos har premiär på Kungliga Operans stora scen 28 oktober kl 19.

Det blir ett kärt återseende när Mozarts kanske mest älskade opera får nypremiär på svenska på Kungliga Operan. Plats på scen igen för björnar, scouter och lömska intriger i Ole Anders Tandbergs succéuppsättning. Tetiana Zhuravel gör rollen som Nattens drottning, som Pamina ser vi stjärnskottet Hanna Husáhr och rollen som Tamino görs av Jonathan Koppel. Trollflöjten har nypremiär den 25 augusti kl 18.30.
