Participants include Alexandra Meissnitzer, Jessica Lindell-Vikarby, Maria Pietilä Holmner, Nicole Hosp, Luc Alphand, Patrik Järbyn, Fredrik Nyberg, Bruno Kernen, Kalle Pallander, Marco Büchel, Jens Byggmark, Ivica Kostelic, Pernilla Wiberg, Anja Pärson, Ingemar Stenmark och Kjetil Andre Aamodt – it’s an, to say the least, impressive line-up. Together they have gathered heaps of medals and prizes from their careers.

Some of these alpine legends finished their careers years ago, while others have only been away from the slopes for a short time. They are all gearing up to give 110 percent as they race once again before thousands of adoring spectators.

Åre was the scene of the last Skistar Invitational at the 2007 World Championships. Some 17,000 screaming fans packed the stadium for an unforgettable evening.

Today, returning fans will be able to revisit the 2007 excitement and experience some new magic. First time spectators will be able to live the dream for the first time.

The event is presented by Active Life Foundation, which among other things works to contribute to the care and rehabilitation of injured athletes, and Right to play, which works to engage refugees within sports and society.

To enter the event, the tickets for the Alpine Team Event grant you access also to Skistar Invitational. Also all valid SkiStar skipasses will let you into the finish area.

Are you skiing to the arena? The VM8-lift will be open for 30 minutes after the race for transport from the event.

Where life can be lived - reflections of a volonteer19.2.2019 09:34:46Pressmeddelande

Yet another Alpine World Championship in Åre has come to an end. The third through the years. Skiers, visitors and volunteers have lived and breathed the World Championships for weeks. The organization has done the same for years. Beyond all the races that have been raced, the medals that have been awarded, something else has taken place. Perhaps the thoughts have been thought before, maybe they have been awaken when being here. Thoughts of the real meaning of life, or rather, thoughts of what kind of life we want to live. Thoughts of where our children should grow up, of where our everyday lives should take place. Where life should be lived.
