Mikaela Shiffrin has been the unquestioned queen of ski racing in the last two seasons. Her start into the current season has been as strong as ever and there is no reason to doubt that she will also be one of the stars of Åre 2019. In addition to her dominance in the tech events, there is no question that Shiffrin has well arrived on the speed scene by now, so the question is, will she go after Anja Pärson’s record of four medals in February 2019?

The night train to Åre is a comfortable and climate-friendly way to travel to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Åre 2019 in February. The train station in Åre is located right in the middle of the town, within walking distance to both the Arena and Medal Plaza. A pre-event survey estimated that visitor transport to Åre will count for the majority of the event’s total emissions. Help us reduce the event’s impact by choosing the train.

There will be many hungry slippers and others working on the slopes during Åre 2019, who will need to be well-fed to keep going during the long days on the hill. The Swedish National team’s gym in the Arena will be converted into a full-scale restaurant kitchen. A team of more than 100 staff will be cooking meals for everyone, from the royal guests to sponsors, parking guards and the media, a total of 54 000 meals in three weeks.
