The season opens on the Main Stage with Fake, a new play by Yael Ronen that explores what is true in a time marked by manipulation and distrust. This is followed by an innovative staging of the famous and acknowledged Swedish filmdirector Roy Andersson’s film classic En Kärlekshistoria (A Swedish Love Story), with two audience members in the leading roles. On the Small Stage, the chivalric tale Parzival—about the search for meaning in chaos—is directed by Marie Nikazm Bakken, alongside a new Swedish work, Fåglarna (The Birds), about a group of people trapped in a house, directed by Freja Hallberg. Ada Berger will direct Antikrist (Antichrist), based on Lars von Trier’s film. Also featured is Cairo-born Canadian author Omar El Akkad’s reckoning with the Western world, En dag kommer alla allltid att ha varit mot det här (One Day Everyone Will Always Have Been Against This). All this and much more will be on stage at Dramaten this autumn.
