“Easter is our most important Christian feast. When we’re also in the midst of a crisis, it’s important that we can continue to worship together, even if it will be in a different way than we’re used to,” says church secretary Cristina Grenholm.

Dates and broadcast times:

  • Monday – Wednesday, 6–8 April at 12 noon: Worship in Holy Week
  • Tuesday 9 April at 12 noon: Mass on Maundy Thursday
  • Friday 10 April at 11 am: Good Friday service with Dean Annica Anderbrant
  • Saturday 11 April at 11 pm: Easter Night Mass with Archbishop Antje Jackelén
  • Sunday 12 April at 11 am: Easter Sunday High Mass with Bishop Karin Johannesson

The services will be broadcast via www.svenskakyrkan.se/live, and it will also be possible to watch them afterwards.

“We’re happy to be able to give people this opportunity. We’re in a special situation right now when an unusually large number of people can’t go out, nor are we allowed to accommodate so many worshippers inside church buildings,” says cathedral chaplain Lars Åstrand.

The Church of Sweden’s website will also have links to other parishes around the country that are publishing worship and services online.
