World Cup dressage with season super nova

From Denmark, Carina Cassøe Krüth comes with Heiline's Dancera, the combination won in the very first qualification of the series in Danish Vilhelmsborg. Her teammate Nanna Skodborg Merrald, rider at the famous Danish stud Blue Hors, is the real super nova of the World Cup season. Nanna has made appearances in this year's season with four Grand Prix horses, which is probably a record in itself. She has also taken points by being placed or on the podium in all starts. Most recently, Nanna Skodborg Merrald comes with a victory in German Neumünster with Blue Hors Zepter.

- When the season started, I had not made a clear plan to actually compete with so many different ones, Blue Hors Zepter I haven't had that long. For me as a rider, the World Cup qualifiers are very good competitions, I know it is nice competitions and they go over two days. It works very well for me in combination with my usual work as a rider, explains Nanna Skodborg Merrald.

- It is also important that the competitions I do with the horses, not least the breeding stallions, really count so that I do not need to compete so much with them to get ranking points for the European Championships.

With to Gothenburg, Nanna Skodborg Merrald has her World Cup horse Blue Hors Zack, a decorated breeding stallion who has received elite status in several breeding associations.

- Zack is older and experienced so we take it a little at a time with him, but he feels in super nice form, he was so good in Amsterdam. Since then, I have made a stallion show in Germany but he feels as fresh as ver, I look forward to ride him here, she says emphatically.

As one of the season's most successful riders, she is already qualified for start in the World Cup final. It will be the first time Nanna Skodborg Merrald gets to compete on American soil, and she is really looking forward to it.

-Scandinavium will be my last qualification, when it's ‘s-Hertogenbosch I am fully busy with Herning Hingstekåring where I will ride eight horses. To Omaha I go with Blue Hors Zepter, it is easier to enter the United States with a gelding, less quarantine required.

Swedish starts

Jeanna Högberg and Astoria were part of the Swedish World Championship team in Herning and they have had success in Scandinavium before during SWB Trophy. Johanna Due-Boje with Mazy Klövenhöj makes her first start in Scandinavium even though she started here earlier as a young rider. Jennie Larsson competes her own Bonafide here for the first time and Jacob Nørby Sørensen will start with his mighty Sheeran.

Unfortunately, home rider Nathalie Oldfors with her own breeding Mickey M got an incident in the middle of the horse inspection.

- Mickey was a bit on his toes but trotted nicely to the turn where he jumped a bit and then he was uneven when we trotted back, maximum bad luck. You get a reminder about how fragile it can be, Nathalie notes but hopes it is not serious.

It is time to charge for the Grand Prix and first out comes the beautiful Frieser stallion Jeroen Poll ridden by Belgian rider Marc Peter Spahn. So it begins!
