Danish rider Dennis Hedebo Johansen and Muni Frá Bendstrup won this year’s World Cup Tölt at Sweden International Horse Show with a total score of 8.556. Dennis and Muni showed a very even program and scored 9.0 for their short tölt both in the semi-final and the final.

It was a thrilling final with four very strong performances from the finalists. Nothing was certain until the end. All riders received high scores during the final, but in the end it was Dennis and Muni that had the most even performance of the night.

– It’s a fantastic feeling to compete here at Sweden International Horse Show. The atmosphere is great and the crowd is very engaged. I really like to ride here, it’s a very special arena to compete in, says Dennis Hedebo Johansen.

Julie Christiansen and Kveikur frá Stangarleak 1, at the moment the highest judged fourgaited stallion in the world, and Maria Berg who rode Toppur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu shared second place. Both riders received a total score of 8.389 and they both had a fantastic last part of the program where they received 9,5 from several judges in the fast tempo tölt.

Swedish rider Vignir Jonasson and Eyvindur frá Eyvindarsmúla were placed fourth, they also received 9.0 and several 8.5s in their program.

– I think this is a great opportunity for us to show some world-class Icelandic horses for a crowd that’s not that familiar with our sport at this level, continues Dennis Hedebo Johansen.
