General Synod meets for debate and decision
The General Synod is the highest decision-making body of the Church of Sweden, deciding on issues common to the entire Church of Sweden. This year’s theme, ‘The Church in the Public Space’, addresses the place of the church in society, locally and globally.

The General Synod’s second, decision-making plenary working session is taking place from 18–20 November at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress. Both the debate and the decision will be broadcast live on the Church of Sweden website.
During the course of their committee work, members considered a total of 73 motions and six communications, resulting in 60 reports with proposed decisions.
The General Synod will conclude in Uppsala Cathedral on 20 November at 2:30 pm with a service led by Bishop Teresia Derlén of Härnösand Diocese.
