Light in the darkness at Medborgarplatsen
There are currently 176 armed conflicts worldwide. Every night, millions of people are woken by the sound of war. Act Church of Sweden promotes peace in the countries of the world most affected by conflict and invites you to a candlelit vigil for peace.

On Wednesday, 27 November at 18:00, 176 candles will be lit in a vigil at Medborgarplatsen in Stockholm. The candles will draw attention to the 176 ongoing conflicts worldwide. Everyone who comes to the vigil will have the opportunity to light additional candles for peace.
“As a church and as a development aid actor, we have a unique opportunity to reach people where no one else can and to create safe spaces for conflict resolution and reconciliation in the worst affected parts of the world. Together we can make a contribution to a more peaceful world,” says Erik Lysén, Director of Act Church of Sweden and one of the speakers at the vigil
