Aachen – Vehicle development doesn’t end with technical readiness: The road to global market launches is only complete once homologation has been successfully achieved. The increasing complexity of national regulations poses growing challenges to OEMs and suppliers. FEV addresses these with an innovative, AI-based approach: The company-wide used ‘FEV GenAI Hub’ significantly simplifies and accelerates the analysis of regulatory requirements across different global markets, offering time and cost savings that can provide customers with a decisive competitive edge.

“In the case of type-approval, we use our in-house AI platform, the ‘FEV GenAI Hub’, to extract, enrich, and analyze legal texts from standards and laws in a fully automated process,” said Dr. Thomas Hülshorst, Group Vice President Intelligent Mobility & Software at FEV. “This enables precise comparisons of regional requirements and identifies any deviations. The platform immediately generates recommendations to ensure legal compliance.”

Significant efficiency gains

In practice, FEV has reduced the time required for comprehensive regulatory analysis from several months to just a few weeks. The AI supports engineers with semantic searches, automated classification, and gap analysis—saving time and reducing the risk of human error.

Customers benefit from:

  • Time savings: Reduces analysis time by up to 60%
  • Cost savings: Cuts resource requirements by up to 50%
  • Scalability: Enables comparison of regulatory requirements across global markets
  • Safety: Identifies homologation risks early and provides actionable recommendations

Future-oriented use of AI

FEV’s GenAI Hub serves as a central platform for generative AI in vehicle development. Starting with homologation today, future platform generations will enable additional automation in system development, test management, and project controlling. The goal: Streamline development processes, enhance safety, and increase market orientation to give customers a decisive competitive edge.

Fiscal strength doesn't guarantee public goods delivery, US study finds21.10.2026 09:28:38 CEST | Press Release

New York/DNA - A newly released study of US state government performance found strong partisan and regional patterns within three pillars of governance: democratic accountability, state capacity and public goods provision. Yet, the US states’ outcomes differ in important ways from international comparisons, as the three governance dimensions show limited correlation, the researchers found. The report, “The Governance Performance of the Fifty States: The U.S. Berggruen Governance Index”, applies the research team’s “governance triangle” from past global country rankings to the 50 US states. The report has now been presented to the public at Columbia University in New York. “Unlike in the Berggruen Governance Index’s cross-national comparisons, where the three dimensions are broadly correlated, in the 50 U.S. states they often run counter to each other,” the authors conclude. “This may seem counterintuitive, as one might expect a well-governed state to finish high on all three and a poor

Grünenthal advances proprietary Nociceptin Receptor (NOP) Agonist into Phase II trial in acute pain20.10.2026 09:23:41 CEST | Press Release

Potential first-in-class, selective nociceptin receptor (NOP) agonist that aims to provide safe, effective treatment for moderate to severe acute pain. Following successful Phase I results earlier this year demonstrating an excellent safety profile, the program has now progressed to Phase II. The randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, placebo- and active controlled, 2-part Phase II trial will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of this novel NOP agonist in patients post bunionectomy surgery. Grünenthal anticipates reporting results in early 2028.
