Church elections start next week – vote wherever you are!
3.9.2025 16:20:34 CEST | Svenska kyrkan | Press Release
The church elections will get started next week. On that occasion, close to five million members of the Church of Sweden will have the chance to influence the direction, finances and activities of the church over the next four years.

The church elections will take place between 8–21 September. Members of the Church of Sweden aged 16 and over can cast their votes all over the country. Johan Nilsson/Ikon
Those studying, working and staying in a location other than the one they are registered in can vote at the advance voting venue of their choice. Doing so requires just a voting card and ID. Your vote is then sent to your own polling station and counted on election day, which is 21 September.
The elections will take place between 8 and 21 September, but you can already vote by post if you have received your voting card.
Preliminary election results online
What is new this year is that the preliminary election results will be published online on an ongoing basis as vote counting is completed in the various constituencies.
