Unique conference for transgender people
29.9.2025 17:23:30 CEST | Svenska kyrkan | Press Release
For the fifth year running, Transblessing – the world’s only online international conference for young Christian transgender people – is being organised.

The Church of Sweden is inviting people to attend Transblessing, a unique global meeting place for young Christian transgender people. On 4–5 October, participants from all over the world will gather for lectures, panel discussions, services of worship and workshops led by transgender people.
“We are proud that the Church of Sweden is standing up for the equal value and dignity of all people,” says bishop Mikael Mogren. “Transblessing is a place where young people can feel safe and in spiritually fellowship, and where together we are building a church where everyone can be fully themselves.”
The conference was launched in 2021 in Västerås diocese and has since become a crucial forum for community, learning and reflection. Young Christian transgender people meet here in a safe environment, where faith and identity can be reconciled without any antagonism.
“Every year, participants testify to the importance of the conference, not only for their own faith but also the sense of global fellowship,” says Oliver Jähnke. “It is a forum that makes a difference.”
Some highlights from this year’s programme

Panel discussion on hope and healing with Latrell Felix, Ann-Christine Ruuth, Grace Ferris, Purity Tumukwasibwe and Ola Gorska.
