Premiere of Game Startup Lab – a new initiative for the game studios of tomorrow
17.10.2025 08:00:00 CEST | East Sweden Game | Press Release
On November 26, Game Startup Lab launches in Linköping – a new accelerator program by East Sweden Game, created in collaboration with Swedbank and Sparbanksstiftelsen Alfa. The initiative empowers young game developers to turn bold ideas into sustainable studios with international reach.

Game Startup Lab is an education and accelerator program designed to give young game creators the tools to turn ideas into viable businesses.
The program is carried out with support from Swedbank through Sparbanksstiftelsen Alfa, contributing both funding and expertise – together with guests from the Swedish and international games industry. Game developers from across Östergötland are welcome to apply. The initiative is run in collaboration with Linköping University and Valla Folk High School, which educate some of Sweden’s most talented future game developers.
“We want to give the next generation of game developers the tools to think bigger – both creatively and entrepreneurially,” says Alexander Milton, Program Director of Game Startup Lab.
“Supporting young entrepreneurs with potential is a natural part of our community engagement,” says Per Andersson, Business Advisor at Swedbank.
The program runs from November 2025 to February 2026 and concludes with a Demo Day on February 26, where participants will present their games and business ideas to publishers and investors.
“Game Startup Lab is the first step in a broader initiative,” says Tomas Ahlström, Director of East Sweden Game. “We are now developing the next phase together with local angel investors and partners who see the great potential in our region.”
