10 Academy Award Nominations for Film i Väst Co-productions

Sentimental Value, directed by Joachim Trier, has today received nine Academy Award nominations: Actress in a Supporting Role (Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas), Actor in a Supporting Role (Stellan Skarsgård), Original Screenplay (Eskil Vogt and Joachim Trier), International Feature Film, Film Editing (Olivier Bugge Coutté), Actress in a Leading Role (Renate Reinsve), Directing (Joachim Trier), and Best Picture (producers Maria Ekerhovd and Andrea Berentsen Ottmar). In addition, The Ugly Stepsister, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, received an Academy Award nomination in the category Makeup and Hairstyling (Thomas Foldberg and Anne Cathrine Sauerberg).

This is a fantastic day! That our co-productions are being recognised with a total of ten Academy Award nominations is a record for Film i Väst and an outstanding acknowledgement of the productions and everyone involved. We are immensely proud of our collaboration with the filmmakers and wish them the very best of luck at the Academy Awards ceremony on March 15, says Kristina Börjeson, Head of Production at Film i Väst.
Sentimental Value is directed by Joachim Trier, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Eskil Vogt, and is produced by Mer Film and Eye Eye Pictures in co-production with Zentropa, Zentropa Sweden, Film i Väst, MK Productions, Lumen Production and Komplizen Film. Parts of the film were shot in Västra Götaland. VP Nordic is virtual production suppliers.
