Pugstorm Ranks #4 on Deloitte’s List of Sweden’s Fastest-Growing Tech Companies

Swedish game studio Pugstorm has secured the #4 position on Deloitte’s ranking of Sweden’s fastest-growing technology companies. The studio’s rapid growth is driven by a clear creative vision, a strong core team, and a work model designed to attract talent from around the world.

In Deloitte’s latest national ranking, Pugstorm placed fourth overall, achieving an impressive 4,364% revenue growth during the measured period — positioning the company among Sweden’s top-performing tech scale-ups.
Founded in Linköping, Sweden, Pugstorm emerged from the regional game development community around East Sweden Game, a hub supporting independent studios and startups.
Last week, the company’s CEO and founder Fredrik Präntare shared insights into the studio’s growth journey during a talk at East Sweden Game in Linköping.
“I don’t try to lock us into an exact plan from day one. But we need a strong idea of the experience we want to create and the players we are creating it for,” Präntare said during the visit.
A key factor behind Pugstorm’s success has been its team-building strategy. The company began with a tightly connected core team built on trust and long-standing relationships. It then expanded by adding local talent from universities and vocational schools, complemented by highly specialized expertise recruited globally.
Pugstorm operates with a “Discord-first” model.
“Discord is our primary office. It allows us to recruit globally while still working closely together,” Präntare explained.
This approach enables the studio to collaborate in real time across borders, while its physical office in Sweden serves as a complementary hub rather than the central workplace.
The Deloitte ranking confirms the strength of Pugstorm’s strategy and highlights how globally competitive game studios can emerge from regional ecosystems — combining local roots with international reach.
