Jennifer Svensson and Yvonne Österholm Winners of the SWB Trophy

A unique concept, created by Hyperion Stud, SWB, and the organization behind Gothenburg Horse Show, gives young horses the opportunity to shine in Scandinavium. On Wednesday, seven young dressage horses experienced the special atmosphere of the arena.

In the class for 6-year-old horses, the victory went to Jennifer Svensson, who impressed together with Dantorio and was awarded a score of 8.52.
Dantorio is bred by Jennifer’s family at Stall Millegarne, and the combination has been together since the horse was young.
“He is a very kind horse with great rideability, willingness to work, and a positive attitude. The plan going forward is to continue his education and see how far the journey can take us,” said Jennifer Svensson.
In the class for 7-year-old horses, Yvonne Österholm claimed the win with Soretto after a very stable and harmonious test, earning a score of 8.72. Soretto is described as a confident and uncomplicated horse with an outstanding temperament – a horse who always does his best and in whom the rider has great trust.
“He’s an easy guy. He likes to sleep and eat. He enjoys being in the paddock, training, and hacking out. Everything comes very naturally to him,” Yvonne said about her horse.
Yvonne has had Soretto since he was very young and works closely with the breeder Per-Arne Persson. The goal for the season is to continue in the 7-year-old classes, with sights set on events such as Falsterbo and the Young Horse World Championships, while maintaining a clear focus on long-term development.
The SWB Trophy is presented by Hyperion Stud, owned by Vicky Castegren, who emphasized the importance of the work done with young horses.
“Competitions like this provide valuable insight into how horses perform in a larger arena and environment – something that is just as important as pure talent,” said Vicky Castegren.
Maucca Kärki, Hyperion’s European representative, also expressed great enthusiasm for the collaboration with Gothenburg Horse Show.
“We have developed a unique concept together, where breeders and young horses are given a platform within World Cup competitions. It’s something we hope the rest of the world will be inspired to follow.”
