Game Startup Lab Highlights the Next Generation of Swedish Game Studios
4.3.2026 08:00:00 CET | East Sweden Game | Press Release
New game studios are taking shape in Östergötland, a growing tech and innovation region in southern Sweden. At the final pitch event of East Sweden Game’s accelerator program Game Startup Lab, participants took the stage to present their projects to a panel of publishers and investors. The audience included representatives from both the games industry and the wider business community. Six promising studios demonstrated strong creativity, clear vision and growing business maturity – a clear sign that the region’s games industry continues to expand.

The participating studios – Slash Interactive, Monkeyclimb Studios, BobaByte, Infinityworks, Package Journey and No Pressure Games – presented projects ranging from innovative gameplay mechanics to strong narrative experiences. The audience was met with well-prepared pitches, clear visions and infectious enthusiasm.
The panel featured Denis Ilecic (Paradox Arc), Christian Daflos (Caketown Publishing) and Noa Nilsson (Almi Invest). They provided both sharp and constructive feedback, and several of the companies are now taking concrete next steps in their development.
“The participants have grown not only in their projects, but also as entrepreneurs. We see a clear professionalisation and a strong ambition to build for the long term,” say the organisers behind the program.
The evening concluded with an after-work gathering and industry mingle at Laszlos Krog, where conversations continued well into the evening. The energy and sense of community in the room reflected the drive of the region’s growing games community.
Several of the teams will now continue their journey – both developing their games and building sustainable studios. Game Startup Lab has not only contributed to new game projects, but also to future companies and job creation in the region.
Building on this success, East Sweden Game is now planning a follow-up initiative. The next step will focus on those who want not only to develop games, but also to build long-term, scalable and sustainable game companies.
Game Startup Lab is organised by East Sweden Game with support from Swedbank and Sparbanksstiftelsen Alfa.
