Strong international bidding resulted in several top results at The Fine Watches Sale — the largest watch auction in the history of Stockholms Auktionsverk. TAG Heuer’s unique tribute watch to the racing icon Ronnie “Superswede” Peterson sold for SEK 1 million, while a Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar achieved the auction’s highest final price of SEK 3,250,000.

More than 160 exclusive timepieces from some of the world’s most sought-after manufacturers went under the hammer during Friday’s The Fine Watches Sale. Particular pre-sale attention was directed toward the unique Heuer Carrera Homage to Mr. Ronnie “Superswede” Peterson in 18K gold — created by TAG Heuer as a one-of-one piece to honor the Swedish racing legend ahead of the 40th anniversary of his passing. After all bids were placed, the final price reached SEK 1 million.
The auction’s highest result was achieved by a Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar chronograph in 18K gold, manufactured in 1989. The rare timepiece, reference 3971 E, sold for a final price of SEK 3,250,000 following intense international bidding. In recent weeks, Patek Philippe has delivered several strong auction results, further underscoring the significant global demand for the brand’s most sought-after models.
– The auction became a wonderful tribute both to a racing icon and to some of the world’s finest makers of timepieces. International interest in the sale was strong, and with total sales exceeding SEK 14,6 million, The Fine Watches Sale is clear proof that Stockholms Auktionsverk continues to strengthen its market position and attract clients and collectors from around the world, says Tony Frank, Watch Specialist at Stockholms Auktionsverk.
