Sahajanand Medical Technologies Receives EU MDR Certification for Supraflex Cruz and Product Family, Reinforcing Global Compliance and Patient Safety
24.9.2026 14:03:00 CEST | Business Wire | Press Release
Sahajanand Medical Technologies Limited (SMT), a leading global manufacturer of cardiovascular medical devices, today announced that it has received certification under the European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR 2017/745) for Supraflex Cruz and its product family. SMT is a leading player in India’s drug-eluting stent market and ranks among the top five companies in key European markets, including Germany, Spain and Poland.
The certification follows the conformity assessment process established under EU MDR 2017/745 including assessment of SMT’s technical documentation, clinical evaluation and quality management system. Together with SMT’s existing ISO 13485 quality management system and MDSAP certifications, the EU MDR certification confirms that Supraflex Cruz has successfully undergone assessment against the EU MDR’s stringent requirements for safety, performance and clinical evidence.
Supraflex Cruz is a sirolimus-eluting coronary stent system designed to improve luminal diameter in occluded or stenosed coronary vessels, including de novo lesions and restenosed vessels. The product has supported the treatment of more than 2.5 million patients in over 75 countries. Its clinical evidence base includes four randomized controlled trials involving more than 5,000 patients and seven real-world registries involving more than 13,000 patients, with findings published in leading peer-reviewed journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, JACC, Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions and BMJ Open.
“This certification is more than a regulatory milestone, it is a statement of who we are as a company,” said Bhargav Kotadia, CEO, SMT. “It reflects the technical rigour, clinical evidence and quality discipline our teams bring to everything we build. For physicians and patients across Europe and around the world who place their trust in Supraflex Cruz, it reinforces our commitment to uninterrupted access and dependable support. It is another step in SMT’s journey toward becoming a truly global leader in cardiovascular care.”
This milestone supports continuity of supply and patient access across Europe and globally.
“EU MDR significantly raised expectations for clinical evidence, technical documentation and post-market surveillance,” said Abhijeet Singhvi, CTO, SMT. “Achieving this certification reflects a strong cross-functional effort across our R&D, clinical, quality and regulatory teams. More broadly, it aims to reinforce the technology, clinical evidence and engineering discipline that underpin our next phase of innovation and growth in Europe and globally.”

Elliptic, the global leader in on-chain risk, today launched Pulse. Pulse puts crypto lead prioritization directly in the hands of every frontline law enforcement and government officer. Crypto now touches every part of law enforcement, from the patrol officer on the street to the detective assigned to investigate the case. Pulse gives each of them a quick, accurate financial summary and a starting point: whether that's a crypto address on a suspect's phone, in a scam ATM victim's receipt, uncovered during a vehicle or pocket search, or found at the scene of an overdose, an arrest, or a seizure. An officer can input anything that looks like a wallet address or transaction hash. Pulse identifies it, reasons over the result, and returns a summary in plain language, enough for the officer to decide on the spot whether the case needs escalation. If a case needs further investigation, one click sends the full analysis forward, not just the evidence. The criminal investigations division gets
Just 4.7% of Financial Institutions Continuously Update Their Compliance Monitoring and Controls as Risk Changes, New Research Finds24.9.2026 15:04:00 CEST | Press Release
SymphonyAI, a global leader in vertical AI product platforms, and AML Intelligence, the leading source of news and insight for the financial crime compliance community, today released the FinCrime Frontier 2026–27 Report, finding that most financial institutions still rely on periodic review cycles to manage financial crime risk, even as the threats and regulations they are meant to track continue to evolve dynamically. Based on the perspectives of more than 200 financial crime and compliance leaders, including senior leaders from major global financial institutions, the research finds that just 4.7% of financial institutions continuously update their compliance monitoring and controls as risk changes, while 56.8% have not adopted always-on compliance monitoring at all, are only exploring it, or remain at an early, pilot-stage level. The finding points to a structural gap: financial crime typologies, payment ecosystems and regulatory expectations are evolving continuously, while most c

Altasciences is proud to announce that recent formulation work supporting 4B Healthcare Inc. (“4B”) has helped advance its RhineX nasal irrigation rinse therapy into clinical investigation. Following several months of formulation development, R&D manufacturing, stability testing, and quality assurance support at Altasciences’ CDMO facility in Harleysville, PA, the Tennessee-based pharmaceutical company has received FDA clearance to proceed with clinical testing of RhineX under its IND. First subject dosing is planned for October 2026, approximately seven months after formulation development began.
