New Research from One Biosciences Shows Single-Cell Profiling Can Identify Which Ovarian Cancer Tumors are Predisposed to Chemotherapy Resistance

One Biosciences today announced data showing some ovarian cancer tumor cells are predisposed to resist chemotherapy and single-cell profiling at diagnosis can identify tumor profiles that indicate which patients are likely to experience treatment failure, ultimately enabling more personalized treatment strategies.

Researchers from One Biosciences, French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Institut Curie, and Sorbonne Université found that the cellular changes linked to the development of resistance to cytotoxic chemotherapy cannot be explained by DNA mutations alone: the functional and epigenetic state of tumor cells play a key role and initial tumor composition predicts overall survival.

The study focused on patients with high grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), the most common and aggressive type of ovarian cancer. The disease has few symptoms, is often identified late and remains difficult to treat, with a five-year survival rate below 40 percent.

“Ovarian cancer tumors are very diverse, with many different cell types. These cells can do many different things, some of which help the tumor resist chemotherapy. In this study we identified all the functional states present in a tumor both before and after treatment and found that a patient’s initial tumor profile predicted their outcome,” said Céline Vallot, Ph.D., co-founder and chief scientific officer at One Biosciences. “By using single-cell profiling to identify functional states associated with chemotherapy resistance, we may be better able to predict who will respond to therapy and who won’t, giving physicians an opportunity for more personalized treatment strategies.”

The study analyzed single-cell RNA profiles of tumor samples both before and after chemotherapy, allowing researchers to track cellular changes. Tumors with a higher initial concentration of chemotherapy-resistance functional states were associated with poorer overall survival. Additionally, researchers identified epigenetic markers for resistance to the chemotherapy agents utilized. Critically, the single-cell profiling technology used in this study can be applied to standard FFPE biopsy samples widely used in clinical care.

“Clinical grade single-cell profiling allows us to identify and track the cellular mechanisms of resistance not just in a research study, but in real world clinical care across a number of cancer types,” said Vincent Miller, M.D., executive chairman of One Biosciences. “This study highlights the impact that knowledge could have for personalizing treatment strategies in one of the most difficult-to-treat cancers patients face.”

The full study was published online in Cancer Discovery.

ARIS Launches Process Context for Enterprise AI, Reinforcing Position as the Essential Platform for AI Ecosystem20.10.2026 14:00:00 CEST | Press Release

ARIS, the pioneer in business process management whose powerful Enterprise Model has been the foundation for enterprise operations for more than three decades, today launched Process Context for Enterprise AI – to become the critical base layer for the agentic ecosystem, giving agents and applications the business understanding they need to deliver measurable new value. While Process Context is becoming critical for successfully deploying and scaling enterprise AI, it demands far more than simply connecting AI agents to business data. It requires a comprehensive foundation that captures the relationships between processes, people, systems, risks and controls. Built on a comprehensive Digital Twin of the Organization that connects how work is designed with the execution data that sits around it, ARIS provides this critical layer of Process Context from more than 30 years of enterprise knowledge and experience, something new entrants to the space are struggling to replicate. The importan

Visa, BILL and Billtrust Launch First Live Pilot for Trusted AI Agent Payments Between Buyer and Supplier Platforms20.10.2026 14:00:00 CEST | Press Release

Visa (NYSE: V), BILL (NYSE: BILL) and Billtrust today announced they have launched the first live pilot to enable trusted AI agents to initiate and complete approved buyer invoice payments end-to-end through supplier portals. Until now, many payment portals relied on human authentication requirements that limited how approved payments could be automated. Together, with leading accounts payable and receivable solutions providers BILL and Billtrust, the Visa Intelligent CommerceTM portfolio helps bridge that gap. Leveraging offerings such as Visa Trusted Agent Protocol, AI agents can now be securely authenticated to credentialed portals. As a result, buyer payments that previously relied on manual entry can be completed by trusted AI agents, while preserving supplier control and oversight. How trusted AI agents are overcoming one of payment automation’s biggest barriers The flow begins when the authorized BILL Payment Agent — registered using Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol and Agentic Dir

Parse Biosciences Launches Evercode MAX, Enabling Researchers to Profile More Cells and Samples with Greater Flexibility20.10.2026 14:00:00 CEST | Press Release

Parse Biosciences, the leading provider of scalable and accessible single cell sequencing and a QIAGEN company, today announced that Evercode™ MAX, a modular configuration of its flagship Evercode single cell sequencing platform, is now shipping to customers. Using the same instrument-free workflow, researchers can profile up to 2.5 times as many cells across up to twice as many samples within their existing budget, or run the same experiment at roughly half the overall cost. Evercode MAX enables researchers to build a kit configuration around their experiment, with sample barcoding and library preparation as independent kits. Evercode MAX is available for Whole Transcriptome, WT FFPE, TCR, BCR, and CRISPR Detect. With configurations supporting up to 384 samples and 2 million cells, researchers can prioritize more samples to characterize biological variation or more cells per sample to resolve rare populations and subtle cell states. That flexibility extends to value as well. Because E
