Swedish TT News Agency has been awarded the EANA Maxim Minchev Award for News Agency Quality 2026 for its proprietary editorial production platform, Elephant CMS. The European recognition reinforces TT’s position at the technological forefront and affirms the system’s role as an emerging industry benchmark for newsrooms in a demanding and fast changing environment.

The European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), representing 33 national news agencies across Europe, presents the annual award to spotlight industry-leading innovation and editorial quality. TT developed Elephant CMS in-house from the ground up to handle the entire news cycle—from initial planning and editing to multimodal publishing and AI-ready data distribution. It is offered to peer organisations as a SaaS solution.

“TT’s Elephant CMS shows what happens when a news agency treats technology as a natural part of its editorial processes,” said Alexandru Giboi, Secretary General of EANA. “Our member agencies operate with speed and scale few newsrooms can match. TT built a solution for itself, proved its value with NTB, and made it available to peers—which is exactly the spirit of innovation and cooperation this award honours.”

Zero Downtime and International Expansion

Elephant CMS went live at TT in early 2025. In May 2026, Norway’s NTB became the first client to migrate to the platform. Since rollout, the system has operated with 100 percent uptime—including during some of the heaviest breaking news cycles in NTB’s recent history.

“Securing this pan-European quality award with NTB running seamlessly on the platform confirms that our technology delivers at the highest tier,” said Anna Nordström, CIO and CISO at TT News Agency. “Built jointly by journalists and engineers, Elephant CMS proves our capacity to build mission-critical, AI-ready infrastructure. With discussions underway with several European media partners, we are ready to scale further.”

Vicktor Olsson, Head of News and Editorial Development at TT, added:

“We built Elephant to give our newsroom instant overview, sub-second publishing, and granular control. The everyday efficiency gains we experience at TT are now validated on an international stage.”
