VACUUMSCHMELZE (VAC) Announces Binding Supply Agreement with General Motors (GM) to Support EV Growth

With 100 years of experience, VAC is a leading global developer and producer of advanced magnetic solutions. VAC is the largest producer of rare-earth NdFeB permanent magnets in the Western Hemisphere.
“The demand for rare earth permanent magnets and supporting technologies is intensifying at an unprecedented rate as the world shifts to sustainable clean energy. VAC is extremely excited to be partnering with General Motors to take this important step to ensure the realization of GM’s all-electric future”, said Dr. Alexander Barcza, VAC Vice President Permanent Magnets.
VAC is in the process of establishing a North American permanent magnet production facility to support GM for a minimum of 10 years. The finished magnets will be delivered to facilities building EV motors for GM within North America. The VAC facility is expected to start production in 2025 and create hundreds of new jobs.

Files can be locked against any modification or deletion for a chosen period and, once the option is enabled, automatically copied to a second Infomaniak data centre in Switzerland. The service is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, with 10 TB of outbound traffic included every month and no request fees. Data stays in Switzerland, under Swiss jurisdiction, with an independent provider.

Frankfurt am Main, November 2026. Modelled on the French initiative “100 euros - 1 Picasso”, the campaign “100 euros - 1 Michelangelo figure of the 16th century” offers one donor the chance to receive a wooden figure of Pope Julius II. The non-profit association Michelangelo-Julius II.-Figur e. V. considers this piece a rediscovered masterpiece by Michelangelo Buonarroti. CEZ scientific analysis dates the wood to around 1500, aligning directly with Michelangelo’s era. All proceeds will be divided 50:50 between the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) and the association. A comprehensive account of the artwork is published on michelangelo-lost-masterpiece.com. The figure represents Pope Julius II; while the famous bronze monument in Bologna was destroyed, the association views this surviving wooden bozzetto as the sole preserved sculptural record and one of the rarest wooden works attributed to Michelangelo.
