Henrik Jönsson examines freedom of expression in the EU
“Back off,” says American author Michael Shellenberger about the EU's regulations on social media. In the latest episode of The Fall of Europe?, Henrik Jönsson investigates the state of European freedom of expression.

Henrik Jönsson's and EPHI's series "The Fall of Europe?" continues.
Many politicians believe that hate and misinformation online threatens Europe. To combat this, the EU regulates what can be expressed online, including through the Digital Services Act (DSA). However, these attempts to protect Europe's citizens from harmful content undermine freedom of expression, and thus European democracy, according to Henrik Jönsson in the second episode of the series, “Free Speech Under Threat.”
In the episode, American author Michael Shellenberger, Cyprus's biggest YouTuber and EU parliamentarian Fidias Panayiotou, and Sweden Democrats' Member of the European Parliament Charlie Weimers are interviewed.
About the series
Episodes are released on the YouTube channel Fall of Europe every Wednesday at 6:00 PM. In ten episodes, Swedish YouTuber Henrik Jönsson travels to Brussels for a candid and honest examination of the consequences of EU policies for growth, employment, and security policy.
“The Fall of Europe?” is EPHI and Henrik Jönsson's first initiative for an English-speaking audience and the second collaboration following the successful production of the Swedish talk show 100%. In the series, Jönsson interviews well-known thinkers and politicians. The executive producer is Marie Söderqvist, CEO of EPHI.
