The 2025 IVA Gold Medal citations:

Industrial leader and Honorary Doctor Carl-Henric Svanberg is awarded IVA’s Great Gold Medal for his outstanding contributions to the development and international profile of major Swedish companies. He is one of Sweden’s most successful business leaders and one of the most prominent figures in Swedish industry, with a strong commitment to society.

Professor Mats Danielsson is awarded IVA’s Gold Medal for his pioneering work on highly sensitive sensors. His research has led to significant medical-technology innovations and commercial success through start-up companies. These advances have enabled the early detection of tumours. Mats Danielsson’s dedication, curiosity and determination have resulted in major scientific achievements and inspired many young researchers and PhD students.

Helena Hedblom, CEO of Epiroc AB, is awarded IVA’s Gold Medal for her outstanding contributions to Sweden’s mining industry. She has played a central role in the development of several companies within the Atlas Copco Group, and since becoming CEO of the listed company Epiroc AB, has developed it into one of Sweden’s 20 largest corporations.

Daniel Stenberg, software developer, is awarded IVA’s Gold Medal for his outstanding contributions to software development, where he has played a central role in internet infrastructure and open-source software. Through his work with curl — a tool now used by billions of devices worldwide — he has enabled reliable and secure data transfer over the internet, not only between traditional computer programmes but also across smartphones, vehicles, satellites and spacecraft.
