H.R.H. Princess Madeleine of Sweden takes on a new role at Childhood.
H.R.H. Princess Madeleine has accepted H.M. Queen Silvia’s invitation to join her as Deputy Honorary Chair at Childhood. This big announcement was shared during Childhood’s annual meeting and means that from now on H.R.H. Princess Madeleine will act next to H.M. Queen Silvia and her engagement in Childhood. This is a natural part of the organization’s long-term plan and vision for 2030.
“We are thrilled that H.R.H. Princess Madeleine has accepted the invitation and will take on a bigger role at Childhood. We see it as a natural step considering her long-term engagement for children’s rights and vast experience from working in several parts of the organisation” says Kenneth Bengtsson, Chair at World Childhood Foundation.
“I feel honoured and happy to be given this trust. These are some really big shoes to fill but I will do my outmost in my new role as Deputy Honorary Chair. The support from the entire Childhood-family makes me feel confident in taking this next step” says H.R.H. Princess Madeleine.
A Christmas greeting and message for the future from the founder of Childhood, H.M. Queen Silvia can be seen here.

About World Childhood Foundation
Childhood works to protect children from violence and sexual abuse. We provide support to local organizations that are developing new and innovative methods to help vulnerable children and families. We also work actively to strengthen the quality and diessemintaion of tested models that reach children and families who have not previously received the support they need. With relatively modest investments, combined with close dialogue and support, Childhood can serve as an incubator and help new ideas and organizations to grow and become sustainable. Childhood was founded by H.M. Queen Silvia in 1999.
